What's the position of the MIC slider in the dialer? Does the echo go away if you don't put the slider all the way to the right?
If someone could tell me where the MIC-Volume settings are saved nowadays, I could provide a setting which is working good for me (at least)

Hi,
thanks for your suggestion. What I remember from the past was that if the slider is not all the way to the right people were complaining one could not hear me. But I will give it a try and post the results.
Maybe you can attach your gsm.handset.state file. Are your running one of the later shr-u ones?

This is the important part of my /etc/freesmartphone/conf/openmoko_gta/alsa-2.6.34/gsmhandset

Hi Elisa,

I tried with your settings, but the background noise is very high and I get still complaints about echo. Does that mean my freerunner is audiowise broken? I remember that the only time people complaint only little was an old qtmoko distribution routing through right pda.
Any help is appreciated, as this is my only phone ...
