solid color backgrounds, but with few tiny graphics (buttons, checkboxes and few others), no gradients.
- First one is high contrast
- Second one uses little gradient which will look good using x11-16 as long as it is drawn on the fly from within edje data collection.
- First one scrolls quite fast and smooth.
- Gradient in second one (right below topshelf) will cause choppy scrolling as you know it from the default theme.
Maybe i find a way to have a pseudo gradient that looks fine, but doesnt cause choppy scrolling... Second one is interesting in particular since not even the buttons need graphics... (my fingers are getting itchy... i'm gonna play around with edc...)

Tom: take a look at pyphonelog, it's scrolling is definitely usable and without taking extreme measures like making the phone b&w. I think you can "leave the buttons pretty" as they are not scrolled (usually) and that make a big diff.
and YES imho buttons need to be altered aswell for a maximum reactive user interface (shr settings uses lotsa buttons which are scrolled) b&w was mainly for high contrast, but i think the Neo theme already provides high contrast, so i won't even bother to crate such a theme like hte first one.
